Zhangzhou Babao Ink Paste was first produced by wei chang’ an during the reugn of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty.It is made from many precious materials,such as pearl,agate,gold leaf and so on.With special procedures,Zhangzhou Babao Ink Paste has eight advantahes:bright-colored,indissoluble in water,never fading,fragrant,not dry in dry climate and not moldy in rainy season,not oily in summer and not frozen in winter.At present,Zhangzhou Babao Ink Paste is well-known and cherished by calligraphers and painter all over the world.
漳州八宝印泥距今已有300多年的历史，是福建漳州传统的汉族工艺品。在清朝时期作为皇家用品采购使用。中外书法家酷爱的印林之宝。闻名海内外的漳州三宝之一，素有“文房第五宝”之称。八宝印泥特指漳州八宝印泥，漳州八宝印泥厂现在仍在生产。
